What is Document Signing?

Document Signing is the process of digitally signing electronic documents using a Document Signing Certificate to authenticate the signer, verify the document’s origin, and ensure the integrity of its content throughout transmission and storage.

Document signing certificates provide reliable authentication assurance for electronically transmitted documents by verifying both the author and the document itself. Digital certificates help customers, partners, and regulatory authorities trust that signed documents originate from a recognized source and have not been altered, forged, or had their content tampered with after signing.
